Andy "Roo"
BACK
It was August of 1974 at the Cove nightclub in Geneva, Ohio, when Andy played his first gig in his first band. This launched a 30 year storied career in the Northeast Ohio music scene that came to a crashing halt in February of 2004.   Andy suffered severe neck injuries during a fire rescue attempt, leaving him paralyzed in the right hand and arm.  Unable to hold a pick, he used duct tape and altered his technique in an ill-fated effort to keep playing out live with the instrument he loved.    Devastated, but still passionate about playing music, Andy started a grueling journey back.   With a dedicated rehab specialist, a complex physical therapy plan, and we won't mention the pyschiatric institutions, Andy figured he was ready to play again!   Ahh, but who would have this over-the-hill rocker??   Who would want a guy in their band that cares more about having a good time than nailing that guitar riff???
Okay... So what's an overly-passionate ego-maniac that refuses to retire do?????
Well you find a bass player in the federal witness protection program, that can't afford the publicity of a "real"  band....hire a good drummer who's antics got him fired from all his other percussion jobs....call on a cherished childhood friend and hoodwink him into thinking this project actually has merit.....and of course, find some silly female who would do "ANYTHING" to sing in a band.....THEN name the whole mess after yourself and elect yourself supreme ruler and dictator!! PERFECT, Andy's Last Band is born!
